Major Duties

Under general supervision, the Public Address Announcer provides announcement coverage of the Athletics events held at the California State University of Northridge enthusiastically and engagingly during the event. The incumbent announces starting lineups, game commentary, and analysis.

  • Accurately pronounces and annunciates player’s names on the home and visiting teams.
  • Provides a dynamic and engaging voice for fans during in-game activities.
  • Reads from and sticks to the PA script without sounding scripted.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 Qualifications

  • Experience with calling sports activity play-by-play. Previous announcing at some level is not required but preferred.

 Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Ability to be spontaneous and react quickly as appropriate.
  • Strong vocal talent and communication skills; energetic and engaging personality.
  • Knowledge of the assigned sport is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; and ability to work a flexible schedule.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

  • Classification: Casual Worker / 1800
  • The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $16.00 – $40.00 per hour, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
  • HOURS: Intermittent, on-call; hours and schedule vary; must be available for weekdays, weekends, and evening home game matches.
  • This is a Temporary position; end date to be determined.
  • The individual hired for this role will physically work on-campus in Northridge. This is not a telecommute position.

 General Information
